Wedding Season has begun

Well after a long winter off, wedding season is back. Although the winter allowed for some family catch up time, I am really looking forward to working with this years brides/grooms, families, children etc. This saturday April 19th, I had the opportunity to capture Melissa and David's Wedding. It was a beautiful day for a April wedding. The sun was shining, the birds were chirpping. I actually had to make a late night visit to the mall on friday to purchase appropriate clothing for such beautiful weather. I was un-prepared in that department. But thanks to St.Vital Center, I was able to solve the dilemma quite quickly. Next weekend brings Rob and Gen's wedding and the nasty rumours I have heard of snow and rain is making me quite upset. But when it comes to the weather, you can only take things one day at a time. However I will not worry about what the week brings me, as I am going to take it one day at a time. STUDIO GRAND OPENING

Well a date has been chosen, the planning is in full force. The studio Grand Opening will take place on May 10th 2008 at 12pm till 4pm. Just a drop in, have a coffee, and check out the studio. I am making final decisions on snacks. Donuts, Tim Bits, or Bagels... So hard to decide when you have no idea how many people will be attending. Either way, I have to make some decisions soon. The studio is up and running now, and I am more happy with the outcome of it than I thought I would be when the renovating it started. Will post some pics of the big day.
Wedding season starts tomorrow, so today is a day of relaxation and editing ofcourse.

FINALLY OUR FAMILY PORTRAIT TASK

Well after what seems like forever, I have managed to find time to take some family portraits.

Now with the studio, and so much more room to work, the family and I went and took a few shots. This was new to me, as I have never used the timer function on my camera, but I have definately discovered that it works great. We got to great family photos, and now for the first time in my photography career, I can hang a family photo on the wall, and say that I took that.

LOL..... Funny isn't it. Thank goodness for tripods, and SLR's. We had sooo much fun, maybe we will update more than once ever 2 years now.

What haven't they invented

Well..... last night my husband did a late night run to good ol 7 11 for some movie snacks.

He asked me if I wanted anything, and told him no, as I am a popcorn lover, and that was all I needed. He ended up bringing me home a surprise. CHOCOLATE CANDY COVERED sunflower seeds. Like ewwwww..... Right! Well curiosity took over, and I found myself eating them. One at a time, not sure what to think of them. After about 1 handful, I discovered they taste just like Reese's pieces. Which I am not fond of! So, lets just say, not something I will be excited to have again. But what next? What will they be making by the summer? Chocolate covered worms? Wait, they make those already. LOL. See what I mean!

Coffee Table Books

I have always been a fan of the coffee table book, and with alot of research, I have now come across a supplier who can supply these books in order to pass on a great price to you all as well.
The books available range in size of 13x11, 8x10 (portrait or landscape) and 7x7. Prices do vary.
I received my first sample book today, and I am more than happy with it. The cover is beautiful and the quality of printing, is great. I must say, this company didn't just fall into my lap. It was a photographer friend Carrie Ekosky who mentioned this book to me, and let me view her sample. So I would like to say Thanks Carrie for all your help. When I began my career path of photography I was so affraid to talk to, and ask questions of other photographers, and since my beginning I have learned that they ain't all scary. We are all just everyday people who have a passion for something, and enjoy what we do. Some are more competitive than others, forsure, but we all are working hard at what we want. Carrie has been more than alot of help to me, with some of my silly questions, and my how did you edit that so quickly, and so on. So thanks Carrie, I do appreciate our coffee chats. Can't wait for the next one!

INFANT SESSION IN STUDIO

What a little sweetheart! Today I had a 4 week old in studio. Aren't they just sooo precious.
When the session started, he wasn't to impressed with the lady and all the lights. LOL. But as
time went on, he warmed up. Ok, he had some milk and then crashed! But even still, he was
such a doll to work with. Here is a sample. Can't wait for the next in studio session.

Nervous About the Studio

WOW, I can't believe how fast the studio stuff has been happening. I feel like I am caught in a tornado, and can't get out, everything is moving soooo fast. I am super excited to open the studio and get things going, but at the same time, I AM SOOOO SCARED. I know myself, and my persistance, and know that this is something I will give my all. This is a dream that is happening. How often in a lifetime do people get to conquer one of lifes biggest goals. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO. I never would have thought. I do hope to see you all there, and can't wait to announce the Grand Opening Day, as everyone will be welcome to stop by and check things out. I may even have some coffee and snacks to share. HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE SOON. Oh, and no more pics of the studio.... LOL, I gave you a taste, now you going to have to see it up close and personal. LOL.

Well, another long day, I think this sick sick girl (lovely spring cold) is going to hit the hay.
