Danielle & Jared's Wedding

Wow what a beautiful day it turned out to be. Danielle made a beautiful bride and Jared a handsome groom. The weather was perfect, and everyone was ready to have fun. I must say last night I was soooo nervous about today's wedding. Usually not nervous, but this wedding was different. The father of the bride and the sister of the bride are both photographers. So lets just say I felt as though the pressure was on. I was so restless last night affraid of what the day had to hold. But you know what, both Danielle's Dad and Sister were absolutely amazing, and I wish I could do it all over again. We had so much fun. The groomsmen were more than a blast to work with, as you will see in the sample photos. Those guys would do anything. Which is great for some original fun photos. Have a look for yourself and see what a great time we had.

It was great to work with this entire group! A wonderful day had.

BUSY WEEKEND

Beautiful Downtown Winnipeg

Engagement Party

Puppy Party

Kevin & Corene

For what I thought was going to be a busy, but laid back weekend, was I wrong.
The weekend started off with friday morning going downtown winnipeg, to just shoot
photos of the beautiful city we live in, from there is was a nice quiet lunch with my friend
and husband, before I knew it, the time was 6pm and I had to get moving and get to Indira
and Senil's engagement party, which I was hired to take photos for. After the engagement party
which was full of beautifully colored dresses, fun ethnic dances, and 2 welcoming ceremonies, I came home to sit and relax, for well not very long since I had something to eat and fell asleep.
The morning of the 10th is a blur. The big day of the grand opening, and I had so much to do.
Pick up last minute prints from the lab, a last minute frame to hang for display, and of course just setting up the studio for visitors. The 4 hour Grand Opening, flew by and I can't really remember for sure who and came and who didn't. After the grand opening I went to a friends place for her little puppies 1st birthday party, yes you read right, my friend had a birthday party for her dog. Her dog is her baby, and well, that is how it goes. It was a good time, smokies on the bbq, friends, a happy puppy with all his new chew toys, it was a great end to a great day.
Sunday morning came so fast, now being Mothers Day, I had a quick cup of coffee and headed back out the door to meet a couple in Birds Hill for Engagement photos. YES, they and I didn't realize it was Mothers Day when we scheduled this appointment, but no problem, we had a good time. Along with the two of them they brought there 2 dogs, who weren't to sure of the camera, but did as well as they could of. After the photoshoot, I got in my car to venture back home, and the relief of the weekend being over, overwhelmed me, and my head started to pound, my stomach started to twirl, and that was it, I was headed for bed. It was a headache I just couldn't shake. I think all the stress of the week, and the super busy weekend, just took its turn on me. Now its 630 am on Monday morning, and I am dreading the thought of getting ready for work, ahhh, a photographer, and a nurses aide. I think the choice here is easy... PHOTOGRAPHER! is enough. LOL... Here's a few photos from the weekend. And oh, can you believe I didn't take any photos of the Grand Opening. I know SILLY. See my head wasn't there!

A change on photography

I have always photographed people, whether is be a wedding, a family session, a newborn baby. So tonight, a friend and I decided to head to the heart of the city, downtown winnipeg, and just look around and see what we could find. My friend has a passion for photographing things, so he was the perfect partner to go with. He had many friendly tips, and we had a great time.
We are planning another early morning photo get away on FRIDAY as I have the day off work.
I can't wait. Not saying my passion still isn't people, its just fun to go out and shoot with someone else.

Clear Lake Manitoba - Elkhorn Resort

Well a long drive to Clear Lake was definately worth the trip.
I met Chris and Megan, who booked there wedding over a year ago,
but thanks to internet, and email, they didn't have to travel far from
The Pas, Manitoba to make sure there wedding was photographed.
I had never been to Elkhorn Resort so it was definately an experience,
and somewhere I wouldn't mind going again. The atmosphere of the
location was quiet, and rustic. Horses in the fields behind the chalets, you
could actually hear the sound of birds chirpping, and no ambulances or fire
trucks in the background. We were able to walk from ceremony to formal
location and getting ready site. It was a beautiful day and the sun was shinning
brightly. What a great day. Here is a few of there photos.

Gen & Rob

What is with this Winnipeg Weather? Last weekends wedding was hot, and sunny. A beautiful April Day, this Saturday was sooo cold and windy, that it was almost untolerable. However, Gen and Rob weren't gonna let the weather get to them. They had booked St.Boniface Cathedrale for photos, and they were going to use it. We did however exclude the bridal party from this location, as we knew we couldn't handle the wind for too long, and wanted to get as many shots of the two of them as we could, before going inside the warm indoor location. After about 20 minutes, we had enough, so we got back in the car/limos and decided to head to one of there favorite places for some fun warmer photos. PORTAGE PLACE. Yes, portage place. We walked in the mall, with Bride and Groom and the a few members of the bridal party, we had a fun time take some shots of the Groom Rob pulling the shoe loving Bride Gen out of a shoe store, we hit the fountain and then of course we hit TIMMIES. Every coffee lover needs a photo holding a tim horton's coffee in there wedding dress, and ofcourse the photog needs a pick me up. LOL. So with the weather against them, they made the best out of there wedding day, and had a great time, and great photos to show for it. Did I mention, the groom Rob is from New Mexico, USA. At least he knows what Winnipeg is all about. I wonder if he and Gen are still sure about there decision to reside here in the big city. BRRRR. LOL. Here's a peak at some of there photos.
