A LONG WEEKEND! ????

Well I must say, this weekend will be my first weekend off in a long time.
This Saturdays wedding has been cancelled, and I am truly sorry for the couple.
I have never yet experienced this, so I was quite shocked to learn that the wedding
wasn't going on. So again my deepest regret and sympathy to the couple.

But now.... What ever will I do? So far the plans are to spend the day with the kids.
Saturday should be full of picnics, the zoo, parks, the forks, and FUN FUN FUN.
Except, what a weekend to get sick. I was assisted last weekend at a wedding, and well
my assistant shared her cold. So in between sniffles, nose blowing, the odd cough, and
the tearing eyes, I am hoping to have a great weekend with my family, oh and get alot of
editing done right!

As for edits, here is what I am working on right now.

WEDDINGS:
Vicki & Steve
Melissa & Matt
Erin & Rob
Samantha & Brent
Bahiiyh & Justin
Tara & Mike

Portraits:
Alicia & Brian
Johnson Family

This week has been a productive one.
I finished up Hansen Family, McGimpsey Wedding

Now on to the rest.
My goal this weekend is to finish up Vicki & Steve, Melissa & Matt
and Erin & Rob. Can I do it? I am sure gonna try.

Stay tuned, I am sure I will take some pics this weekend of something. LOL

What a Weekend!

Ok, so where did the weekend go? Friday was as busy as you can imagine, with photo disk burning, picking up at the lab, a quick stop at the grocery store, 2 wedding meeting for 09, making dinner for the family, picking the kids up from daycare, cleaning the house, and getting
batteries, and memory ready for saturdays wedding. Saturday started @ 9am at Aura Hair Design in St.Vital Center, then to the Fort Garry United church, from there to the Leg, and then
finishing up formals at Red River College. My assistant and I made a quick stop at the reception location (the fabulous Caboto Center on Wilkes) to get a few shots of the tables, and details, and then scurried to the nearest Tim Horton's to work on the wedding day slideshow. ya, you read right. Saturdays couple asked if I could provide a slideshow of some of the days events, and I agreed. I was booked to stay at this wedding till 10pm, so I took 3 hours away from the reception to prepare the slideshow, and honestly talk about crunch time. Editing, Designing, Burning. WOW. Not an easy task but, I got it done, and everyone seemed to love seeing how the day progressed. At 10:30pm we left the reception, and I tell you, as fun as the group was, I was soooo happy to be on my way home, and TO BED, as Sunday morning started with an 11am family photo shoot, followed by an engagement session. YA Busy. Here are some photos from this weekend. Thought one post would be better than three. Enjoy! (oh and guess what, now I am going to bed, yes at 8:45pm on a sunday) LOL.

Booked a Day off and Where did I go

Yes you guessed right. I attended a wedding. AS A GUEST!
I know, talk about totally weird. My husband and I sat down and
thought about it, and never in my life have I attended a wedding that
I wasn't doing the photos, video, or in bridal party. So let me just tell ya.
I was a little restless sitting in the church. Seeing the key moments that
I feel need to be photographed, the waiting in between the ceremony and
the reception (ya you guessed it, drove me nuts) and then just sitting when
arriving at the reception. OMG, ya that was weird.
Mel and Todds wedding was beautiful. The day was hot and sunny, (alittle to
hot for my liking) but a great day, none the less. Well do you honestly think
I could let the day go by and not take pictures. NO! Here's a few
from the reception. That was all I could do! DARN DARN DARN.
You may recognize the bride from a post last month, and yes it was her
portraits I had done that were being used as a wedding gift for the groom,
so now I can put them on my website. LOL. Its outta the bag. Anyways,
here's a few of Mel and Todd.........

1 Month Old

Monday evening I started to photograph this sweet little infant. However, it just wasn't her night. So we got a few shots, and decided to reschedule the rest of the shoot to another day.

So today we finished up. We got some great shots of this little one who just turned 1 month.

Isn't she adorable? Here's some samples.

2 Family shoots and a Bday Party

The day started off early for me today. I started with a family session/infant/2 year old shoot at 10am. Followed by my grandmothers 68th bday celebration, and then a family shoot at 2pm. The heat was intense, and no whatever what, I just couldn't get away from it. Oh ya, and my biggest mistake... I wore pants. DARN it Darn it Darn it.. (and I meant I should have warn shorts) Anyways, the day was good. Busy but good. Here are a few samples of the in-studio shoot, and the on-location family shoot.

August 9th 2009

What wonderful weather we had today.
The bride today, had thing organized to be very laid back and relaxed.
I started with this group at 9am at Transcona Hair, till 11:30am. We then
went to the bride and grooms apartment from 12 till 3:30. The girls got dressed,
and did makeup till the limos arrived. We then headed to St.Vital Park where the wedding was taking place. And like soooo many weddings, the families surrounded for more family photos
than there was time alloted for. So we did as much as we could and then headed to the formal
location (Red River College) for the bridal party and couple shots. However by the time we arrived at Red River we were left with 45 minutes. Talk about crunch time. I raced around
the campus trying to get many shots of the couple, squeezed in a group shot, and managed to get 3 shots of the just the guys and just the girls...... Not alot of time, and not alot of formals. But we did get a few great shots. Here they are!

TOTAL CRAP

Ok, so todays wedding, was great. BUT........
My car was parked, and some old guy had the nerve to side swipe me,
and the worst part. He kept going. Didn't even stop.. Like what the heck
is wrong with people. I totally appreciate the limo driver who went above
and beyond. He got the plate number, a description, and even a witness and
phone number for me, since I was busy shooting the ceremony and didn't even know
what was going on.. A great hot sunny day ruined for me in a matter of seconds.
As for the wedding, we took to long doing family shots, and really lost alot of time
with the couple and the party at the formal location. I am now downloading todays
shoot to see what we got. Stay tuned.

Oh SO Hot

Today was a fabulous day.
We started off with the formal shots, as this couple choose a 6pm ceremony.
Which gave us time to really get some great shots. We started off
in the exchange district, then over to the forks and ended the formal
shoot in a side highway field on the way out to Niverville, Manitoba
where the wedding was taking place. The late ceremony was beautiful.
Done in the Atrium of the Niverville Heritage Center, where the bride and
groom were married on a beautiful wooden staircase.
Here is some shots from there day.

So Cute

Don't we just love the age of 3. Yesterday I photographed this little guy, and what else more than a barrel of energy. LOL... We started out at the Legislature by the fountain, which ended up being one big swimming pool. After a change of clothes it was down to a nearby park to just let him have fun, and I think he did.... But looking at the camera, was just the last little thing on his mind. However, we managed to get some great shots. Here is a sneak peek.

Eric & Rob

Here is some samples from Erin & Rob's lucky to be RAIN FREE wedding day.
Today was definately a odd weather day. The rain started, and stopped so many times, that I just didn't know what it was going to do next. However it turned out amazing, and they say RAIN is GOOD LUCK on your Wedding Day, so for Erin and Rob, they are going to be blessed with many years of happiness, as the rain started and stopped so many times through the day, however not ever enough to ruin the photo shoot..
Congratulations ERIN AND ROB....
