Kenora, Ontario

What a beautiful Wedding!  Today I had a wonderful opportunity of photographing a beautiful, wedding in Kenora, Ontario.  Since the day this couple booked this wedding with me, I was full of excitement.  I have been to Kenora, and knowing all the photo opportunities there, the Island Wedding Setting, and the close family and friend group that would be in attendance would be a fun, exciting opportunity to be apart of.   My day started @ 630am.  To be honest the alarm clock rang, and I wanted to cry.  Due to my night before excitement about getting out of the city for the day, I was unable to sleep till the wee hours of the night. But my tiredness didn't last long. By 7:15am, my husband and I were on the highway, Timmies large in our hands and the music playing.  We were on a Road Trip.  11am, I met todays groom @ the Devil's Gap Marina where I said goodbye to my husband and got onto a boat for the first time in my life. As we pulled away from the Marina I waved @ my hubby with nothing but nervousness, and a fear of water..........

Approximately 10 minutes later we arrived @ the Cottage, where a beautiful dock awaited us.  Yes, that meant I was able to get off the boat, and out of the water.. LOL....  Once on dry land, I was again full of excitement for the wedding to begin.  I met the bride, and what a joyous person she was.  The happy glow of a bride to be, is a happiness that you could be apart of day in and day out...   Even though the weather was absolutely freezing, and quite shocking for June, this couple didn't let it get them down, and as planned were married on the dock by the lake.  It was absolutely beautiful.  Once the ceremony had taken place, we got some amazing shots, on the Island, starting with the dock, guest house, boat house, and another dock..  What great scenery.  Would love to shoot weddings in Kenora every weekend. Its a beautiful place.  Here is some samples from todays wedding

Rain Rain GO AWAY

What a day!  The rain started yesterday (Friday) and today, it still hasn't stopped.  I always hope for a rain free day for each couple, but this weekends couple didn't get that... I was so upset for them as I travelled to start the day.  But you know, when I arrived @ the Grooms parents home and mentioned the weather of the day, he simply said "It don't Matter, We can't help it" and you know, I realized that ya, why be upset about the weather, we can't control it, we can't make it go away, so you just have to deal with it.  This couple was amazing, they just wanted pictures.  We did some formal traditional stuff @ the church, went to the Legislature, then off to the Marlborough hotel, where we used pretty much anywhere we could.  We did take a quick venture outside for some shots under the awning, and the bride was almost splashed by a ongoing vehicle..  So we wrapped it up out there after a few shots.  However I was shocked.  Its pouring rain and a car speeds by without even thinking to slow down.  How could they miss the white dress, the veil, and all the construction signs saying SLOW DOWN...    Here is some shots from there special day, that a little rain didn't get in the way of.

Father's Day 2009

Today I took the day away from the computer and enjoyed a fun filled day with my family.
We started off by having a great cup of Timmies coffee outside while the kids played in the yard.
Then off to Mongo's on Regent, our family FAVORITE restaurant.  The heat was incredible so we decided our backyard would not be complete without a pool that the 4 of us could enjoy.  After a trip to Canadian Tire for a air pump we filled up the new pool and convinced our 10 year old daughter to hop in.  The water was ice cold, but she didn't care.  Till she was in the water that is.  Our 3 year old, wanted nothing to do with getting wet, he was a happy boy playing in the sandbox, and in his little tykes car...  However I took a few video clips of our Fun Filled Family day, that I enjoyed more than ever.  A small sunburn on my shoulders, but totally worth the laughter.  Enjoy the video and take a moment with my family.......

My Family and Friends

Well I had this past weekend off, so I thought I would enjoy it with my kids, hubby and friends.

Well ok, I enjoyed it and put everyone else to work! LOL.  Our neighbors came over and helped out with putting up a fence, to keep the kids and puppies safe and sound in our yard.  It was a project very long awaited.   Here is some fun shots with the kids, and the project we attempted.

Team Photos

Another summer, more soccer.  Last week I was asked by a previous client to photograph her husbands soccer team's team photos.  What a great time.  The kids were excited, and were all smiles.  Here is a few shots.
