Stacy & Adam

Yesterday I spent the day with Stacy & Adam on their wedding day. This was a great couple. Last Sunday I spoke with Adam and he was more excited than you can imagine to marry his best friend, the love of his life. It was the sweetest thing I had ever heard. This couple is full of love and passion.. They have a beautiful family with their 3 children, and yesterday was a amazing day, and so glad to be apart of it. Here is some samples:

Family

Tonight I was given the opportunity to work with a family that I have known since I was a small child. I went to school with both the kids of this family. We grew up in the small town of Ile Des Chenes. It was so fun to see friends I haven't seen all that much over the years. Julien & I have been great friends, and even though we don't talk all the time, when we do get together its like he and I never had years and years with no contact.. I was honored to be asked to capture these family moments with this family! Great to also see a family, with the children all grown up, making the family portrait effort :) Way to go guys! It was fun! Here is some samples.

Wet & Cold

Tonight I had the pleasure of working with this fabulous, outgoing couple. I photographed Tara's cousin's wedding last year, and had the chance to meet this couple @ that time. Tara & Ryan, are outgoing, and a blast to work with. The weather wasn't the best it could be for August, but we made the best of it. When we began, I told them we were going to move fast, due to the crazy Rain warning Winnipeg was under. The clouds rolled in and the wind picked up, but this couple didn't let that get them down. They even jumped into the Ice Cold Fountain @ Winnipeg's Legislature Grounds. AWESOME. TRULY AWESOME. We got some great fun pics, that really show this couples outgoing, personality! Here's a sneak peek. Can't wait for their wedding on September 12th of this year. Few more weeks, wonder what we will come up with that day! :)

Baseball Wedding

Today I had the opportunity to shoot Jo Anne & Shaun's wedding. It was awesome and totally unique to their personalities and love of Baseball. From the baseball diamond ceremony, baseball chocolate favors, and the gorgeous baseball wedding cake. It was a great day........

The morning started out @ Stars Beauty Salon & Day Spa, where I must say feels like home. A great group of ladies work there, and the atmosphere was so relaxed. From the salon, a 2 hour break was in store, which was great, to run home and download to the computer what I had started with. After the guys getting ready, and the wonderful bride getting dressed, we headed to Buhler Complex for the Baseball Diamond Ceremony. Followed by Harbourview Golf Course. We didn't have a crazy amount of time for photos, but we used what we had and got some great shots... Myself, not being a baseball player or even a fan, had to think quick to get some fun formal baseball shots, this couple could just not be without them! Here is some samples!

RAIN RAIN RAIN

Well Yesterdays wedding was out in Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba. Beautiful Place to be, however the rain decided to take over, and not let up. But you know what, it didn't let this couple down. The day started, and the bride was very upset by the weather, but after calming herself down, she realized, she can't change the weather and would do whatever necessary to have the wedding of her dreams. That meant, outside in her parents yard, followed by outdoor photos. So while the rain fell down, slow, and fast, this Bride stayed out there in it. All the brides maid walked down the grass aisle barefoot, and ready for anything. Formal photos were taken outdoors in a family members yard, @ one point during the group jump shot, a bridesmaid had mud splattered up her legs, due to the puddles of water, we couldn't avoid... Way to go guys, here is some samples of there day.. It was great to work with a couple who wouldn't let any bad weather get in the way of having some great wedding photos....

Absolutely Gorgeous

Today I had the pleasure of photographing a wonderful couple, yet once again. Victoria & Elger were amazing to work with . Very laid back, and easy going. Victoria had no worry of her dress getting dirty, as she knew this is what to expect with photos prior to the ceremony, so because she wanted good pictures, she went with anything I suggested. Dress got a few spot on bottom, but all in all, pretty good considering laying in damp grass, walking in a muddy field, and sitting on concrete steps.. Way to go guys, you were a blast to work with, and I hope you love the sneak peek as much as I do.

City meets Country

What an awesome couple. Thursday night, prior to the crazy weather, I met up with Val & Patrick in a farmers field just on the perimeter of the city. We couldn't have lucked out more. The farmer whose field it was, was @ the location moving bales, so we were able to ask him his permission to use the field, and he even let them hop in the tractor for a few shots. Amazing guy!

The bride to be grew up on a farm and now living in Winnipeg, wanted to bring the country feel into their engagement photos. So that is exactly what we did. After shooting in the field for almost an hour, the sky started to get dark, and it looked like Rain was heading out way. I am a fan of Harbourview so I suggested we drive over there, for some fun sunset photos, and we lucked out. Gorgeous sunset, followed by catching a rainbow as we were leaving and wrapping up the shoot. Here is some samples.

Gone but not Forgotten

Hey Everyone. This post is not photography related. This post is to honor a wonderful, caring person who has lost his life way to soon. Braden Paul Andersen of the Whitemouth Manitoba Area went missing on Saturday August 8th @ 2:45am. He was last seen on Rorie Street, and today August 11th @ 9:30am found by his family in the river near the Alexander Docks. This man was the brother of my husbands long time friend, and this situation has really hit our home. My husband who grew up helping his friend watch his little brother, is saddened @ the loss of this terrible young man. Foul play, has not yet been determined, but this man was not the type to be depressed, or suicidal. So what happened, something happened, and why were his belonging scattered along the river banks. To me that is fishy, someone was somewhere, and only Braden will ever know. I want to let everyone know of this story because, we all think it only happens on the news, it won't be someone we know. But you know what, that ain't true. This time this situation hit home, and it is the most horrible feeling you can imagine. I don't even want to let my children out of the house. Our daughter 10 and son 3, so we have a few years yet, but my goodness, I think I will chauffeur them everywhere. Not being out of my sight. I used to think some parents were to protective, and needed to let go. I understand now. I really get it.

So before I continue on this post for hours and hours, I just want to say RIP Braden. Gone but not forgotten. Let your family have peace that they have found you, and put you to rest.

Michelle & Nelson

I honestly can't find any words to describe this couple. Michelle & Nelson, were an amazing couple. As much as todays groom wasn't a fan of photos, he was a real trooper, and agreed to anything that I suggested. Our lack of photo time didn't suffer, as this couple was amazing to work with. I said it once, and it happened.... Michelle, being the sweet bubbly type, is the kind of person who after only minutes of speaking, its like you just made a new friend. She is outgoing, and such a wonderful person. After many chats leading up to this big day, and a night out to check out some suggested photo locations, the big day arrived, and it was beautiful. This mornings rain shower, sure didn't give a good outlook on the day, that was a planned outdoor ceremony. But you know, the rain held up and everything was beautiful. A little humid but, NO RAIN. Couldn't ask for a better day! Here is a sneak peek of their special day. Congrats you to, it was an amazing day, and I hope it was everything you dreamed it to be!

It's a Girl

I am sooo excited to post these pictures. My long time friend has given birth to her baby girl. A few weeks early, but healthy and strong. Thea is an absolute doll, and I can't wait to photograph her for many many years to come. Colleen is not only a long time friend, but she is also my daughters Godmother. She is more than a friend, she is family, and already in a few short weeks, I have been able to say I have photographed a maternity session, newborn images in the hospital, and now some studio work, with the sweet little angel. Here is some teasers!

E-Photo Monday

Today I had the chance to work with two fabulous couples. Ken & Jeanette, and Dan & Daniela. Both couples started out their e-photos @ the fabulous Graffiti Gallery located on Higgins and Gomez in Winnipeg. This has become a popular photo hot spot this season, and I must say I am not sick of it their. The bright graffiti makes a wonderful backdrop for any photo! Here is a few samples from todays 2 wonderful shoots!
