The "A" Family

Last night I had the opportunity of capturing smiles, laughter, and a few tears.  With a great group of kids and parents of course.   The children varied from 2 months, 14 months, 3 years, and I believe 5 years or so.  So the shoot was definately full of excitement.  Here are some samples .   We had a great time.

Canon 5D mrk2 Video

Well I played around with the option on my new Canon 5D mrk2, and this is the result.

I must admit its something that I need to work on my skills with, as I haven't ever done
a whole lot of video.  I think the biggest thing is remembering that I have the option and
using it.   This particular wedding I took some clips of getting ready, and the ceremony.
Formals would have been alot of fun to include some live clips, however when I was in shooting
mode, I didn't think about video...  Those are the skills I will have to work on.  But I still think
the combination of photographs and video make for a unique capture of a look at the entire wedding day in only 4 minutes.   Feel Free to sample

V Day Wedding

What a beautiful day, and definately a great choice for a wedding.. VALENTINES DAY!  The day started out with the bride, her bridesmaids, and the Mom's..  Then on to the groom, and groomsmen of course.  From there we headed OUTDOORS to the Exchange District, and ran into some very interesting characters.  One guy accused the groom of driving over his foot, and the other guy sang us "I saw him standing there"  LOL, a day I could never forget. hehehehe. Despite the cold weather, we were able to get some great shots, cause this group was definately willing to do whatever we needed to get the shots we wanted, so I do thank each and everyone of them for that.  From the exchange off to Red River college we went.  This was a relief from the cold and a great place to be to take the rosy cheeks and noses away, for the ceremony. After the ceremony we went to The Provencher Bridge, then outside of the legislature, then inside to again warm up and get some great shots...  It was definately an eventful day, which was awesome.  We had location after location and pose after pose, this was by far the first wedding that gave me as much formal time as it did, and I LOVED IT!  A great time was had by all, what a fabulous group..  Here are some shots from today!

Talk about an accident

Well definately not a great end to a great weekend... Yesterday, my husband was working outside, making a sub box for his truck and well his hand slipped, and went through a table saw. Ya, you read right.  He was lucky not to have cut it completely off, that is forsure, however he has cut the bone in 2 places, meaning that he only has 1 of the 2 bones in the thumb left..  They have stiched him up, and casted it, now its the waiting game.  They are hoping with some Physio and OT that he will regain full use of it, with ofcourse some drawbacks in the strength department, but Scott is a tough cookie, so I know he will work to use it again 100%.  If it doesn't heal properly, to the point that he can use it or bear to live with it, they will then have to amputate up to the bend.  So not the entire thumb at least.....  Which he is not wanting to lead up to!  I don't blame him, but I want him to do whatever needs to be done.  Anyways, thought I would make a post about what going on over in the Breti house.  This has been a horrible NEW YEAR I must admit.  Cohen had Pneumonia, I have had an ear infection for 7 months, that I can't seem to get rid of, Scott had his accident, and well, I just hope Alyssa plays it safe.  Cause I can't bear anything more this year.     Thanks for reading.......  Stay tuned for Saturday's wedding pics.  A valentines wedding, bet it will be beautiful.

Oh, and 1 more thing.  I would like to say thank you to Mom, Dad, Kira, & Andrea for taking care of the kids over the course of the day while Scott and I spent over 9 hours in Concordia, and Health Science Center Emergency rooms.....  Couldn't have been there for him without you guys, oh and definately can't forget good ol' neighbor Chris for coming to the rescue to remove the table saw and storing it in safe keeping till Scottie is up and well enough to even look at it, let alone put it away.  Back to taking care of my hubby, the house, and editing!

Great start to a new Season

Well today February 7th started off my 2009 Wedding Season, and what a fabulous start it was. The Weather was absolutely perfect, No bride or groom could ask for anything more!  The sun was shining, and the wind was at a nice soft breeze..  This couple was terrific to work with and I am so glad I was able to be a part of there special day.  Everyone in the wedding party was absolutely fabulous and willing to do anything suggested, example, the guys tobogganing @ Kings Park, (thanks again boys for doing that).  Here are some shots from this beautiful Winter Wedding..
