Family Wedding

Today I had the pleasure of photographing a FAMILY WEDDING. What I mean by that is my cousin Kristin and her fiance Bob hired me to shoot their boxing day wedding. I was very flattered @ this, and couldn't wait till this big day. 4 1/2 years ago, Kristin was a part of my wedding as my junior bridesmaid, and being given the opportunity to spend the entire day @ her side capturing all her memories is an honor I will forever cherish. Kristin you looked absolutely beautiful. The sparkle in your eyes, the smile that came to your face when you hair was complete, when you make up was done, when the dress was on, then finally when you saw Bobby standing @ the Alter in his uniform waiting for you! It was magical. I will admit now, and only here that when your dad walked you down the aisle, your first few steps brought tears to my eyes. When I saw your husband take your hand and you guys faced the minister to begin your lives together, more tears. Not because of sadness, because you definately found an incredible man to have in your life, but because of happiness. Happiness that you have found that 1 special person that makes you laugh so hard you cry, and smile so much it hurts. You may be all grown up, a married woman, but to me you will always be my little kristin that I used to babysit.... That I used to snuggle with on the couch to watch "LITTLE MERMAID" 800 times, or sing along to "BARNEY" with. Congratulations Kristin, and all the best in your life with your new husband. Bob, you too cleaned up great.. You looked awesome, and again congrats on this wonderful day, thank you for making me apart of it! Here is some samples from their BIG day!

Christmas Eve Family Photos

What a great time to book a family photo session. Christmas time. But Christmas eve is a terrific idea when your family lives away. Yesterday I was given another opportunity to photograph this fun energetic group. A few months ago I captured Chelsea & Davids wedding, and today I was asked to come back out to their country home for some snowy fun filled photos..... Thanks guys for inviting me back. Oh and glad my jacket came in use for the FXR/Artic Cat feel you had going on. Great times!

Baby & Engagement Day

Today I started the day off with a shoot of "Thea" What an absolute doll. This little one is my good friends daughter, and I have been photographing her since she was in the womb. Beginning with the maternity photos, hospital photos, 2 week photos and now @ 5 months I had the opportunity to capture her again! Thanks Colleen and Doss for trusting me with these special memories. Following the indoor studio set shoot, I headed out in the cold to photograph my cousin Kristin and her fiance Bob. We battled the cold, and got some great shots @ the St.Boniface Cathedrale. Kristin and Bob are getting married next weekend on Boxing day, so stay tuned for their wedding images as well. I must say. "Thanks Kris and Bob for asking me to capture the day for you." Here are the sneak peeks.

Last Weekend Before Xmas

I met this little girl when she was just a little baby. I was hired to shoot her aunt and uncles wedding and when we met for their wedding consult I had the pleasure of meeting her.... Then the big day came and she was the little flower girl.. What a cutie.. Now @ the age of 2 1/2 she had her own day to be the star, and was she ever. Here are some shots of "A" Thanks for giving me another opportunity to capture moments for your family!

What a Christmas!

In life we all face some hard, sad times. But why @ Christmas. Isn't Christmas supposed to be a happy time of year, to be with the ones you love.. To be surrounded by laughter, happiness, and FAMILY. Well this christmas isn't that for us in the Breti house. As much as we will smile for the kids, pretend to be happy with our extended family, and show excitement and enthusiam doing things we don't feel like doing. A very close friend of our family was diagnosed with Cancer, approximately 1 month ago. After a short battle with Cancer, we have been told it won't be much longer. Each minute, hour and day goes by and we wait. We wait, because we know it won't get better. We know he can't get better, and that is the part that is horrible. Its Christmas. How can someone be sick @ Christmas. I know this world we live it, doesn't care what day it is to bring on bad news, or make it a time of sadness, but why. It is so unfair. Every day he hangs on, and we all wait. Cherishing every moment, every second we can have. Asleep or awake, the moments are all anyone can have, and everyone wants each and every moment. Thanks for the Memories. There are so many of them. Bacon and Eggs, will never again be eaten in our home without your memory. Who else made me bacon and eggs every morning when I was a little girl. That was you! Who danced with me in the kitchen and taught me the wonderful 60's tunes you loved so much. Who danced like the wind, and almost had me on the floor cause I couldn't keep up. Again you..... Even now as an adult, I continue to look up to you, not just as a friend of our family, but as another family.... An extended family..... I have so many memories that I will cherish forever. I will hold on to each of them. I would not be the person I am today, without each and every one of you....... And in this hard time, I hope you all know, I am always here........

I would like to thank everyone for understanding. I am trying as hard as I can to get editing done and handed out prior to christmas.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! HAVE A GOOD ONE!

Friends photo Day

Today I was asked to photograph 2 different families. Both referrals from a previous customer a few weeks ago. The 1st family, wanted to go to The Forks, inside the Johnston Terminal for some WARM family photos. Little 3 1/2 year old "N" was adorable, and really didn't have much interest in smiling for the camera. He decided a "YAWN" was way more efficient. LOL. However, some great shots were made..... From the Forks I headed over the Winnipeg's Legislature Building to photograph the next family and little 8 month old "A" What a doll. This little guy should be the next "GERBER" baby. My goodness.... What a sweetheart.... I even called him a little camera hog. LOL. He's gonna be a heartbreaker ;)! Here are some samples... Special Thanks to Raquel for your kind words of referral to your friends and family. It is very much appreciated!

First weekend of December Babies & Families

This weekend there was a little bit of snow. More than what we had last weekend, which was NOTHING..... However the temperatures have defiantly dropped, leaving the outdoor photos full of rosey cheeks, and pink noses! LOVE IT... Saturdays shoot was of little "C" an absolute Doll....

Sundays shoot was a family of 16, and what a great group. Funny how small our world is. When I arrived to meet the group, I noticed one of the family members was a someone I attended Elementary and High School with, growing up in Ile Des Chenes... Its so great to see old faces. Here are some samples from the weekend!
