WINNIPEG's WETTEST DAY EVER!
Saturday I shot Andrea & Paul's wedding. (sorry I got behind in my blogging) The rain started on Friday, and it just didn't want to stop. Over the weekend Winnipeg broke records for the amount of rainfall we received. This couple didn't let that get them down. We started off the Pictures @ the Red River College, Princess Campus Downtown, a great spot to get some dry images. Then we headed to the Exchange District, to a coverage garage/parking area that was completely covered to give us that downtown look we wanted. Then we headed out to the beautiful Fort Whyte Center. Which I must admit I have not been too since grade school. I forgot what a gorgeous place it was. This being my first wedding I have shot @ Fort Whyte, I was amazing by the beautiful surroundings and all the wonderful places to take pictures. However, due to the rain we were very limited. The grounds were soaked, and the rain drops lightly fell. We didn't want to get to far away, and as we were shooting the drops got a little bigger.. We all knew this probably wasn't a good thing, so decided to head back. We began to run and thank goodness. Just as we got inside, it poured..... This bride and groom wanted their outdoor ceremony, and they got it. JUST IN TIME..... During the ceremony the sky went dark a few times, the wind blew hard, and the people sat on the edge of their chairs, just in case they had to run for cover. Ok, maybe not that dramatic but it was risky...... I loved that they risked the rain to have the ceremony they planned... After the ceremony when all the guests made it safely inside, the sky opened up and down came the rain.. We could hardly see where we had just sat! Unbelievable. I told Andrea & Paul they have to be the luckiest people I have ever met. They got the day they wanted, some great photos, and now are on their way to a wonderful life together.
